This picture shows the trio of “tall 12oz” cans with Ambrosia and Frederick's Four 4 Crown by South Side Brewing Com, and Golden Armor by Ambrosia Brewing Co., which was the successor name to South Side Brewing in 1937. The Ambrosia and Frederick’s Four 4 Crown in the photo were originally in the Pottstown, PA collection and these tarnish-free examples were kept full until 1972, when bottom opened. The Golden Armor pictured was found by a maintenance man in the basement, behind a boiler, of a school on the South Side of Chicago. Dan Baker of Beercansplus.com, who got the can, described how the can was saved: “the maintenance man thought the can was cool, so he kept it”. | |
